FAQ

What do you mean by Soft Washing?

Soft washing is the process of using low pressure and a cleaning solution to remove organic materials from exterior surfaces such as asphalt shingle roofs, painted surfaces, stucco, vinyl siding, wood, brick, hardy plank, and composite surfaces. The pressure that is used to perform the soft washing is no more pressure than comes out of your garden hose. We can adjust the mixture of our cleaning solution on site to clean the materials previously listed without causing damage to your home or business. Our cleaning solution is formulated to kill the root systems of the organic material growing on your roof, home, concrete, etc. Our cleaning solution can kill plants and vegetation, but we take all the proper precautions to prevent damage to our customers’ landscaping. We do hook up to our customer’s water; If this is an issue, we will bring our own water.

What does a Roof Wash consist of?
We do NOT pressure wash roofs. We ONLY soft wash roofs. Soft wash is a damage free cleaning method that is approved by the ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufactures Association). Roof cleanings last up to 2 to 3 years. We use a chemical solution to remove organic materials such as algae, mold, and fungi. When these contaminants start to build up over time, they will cause you to have black streaks and dark spots on your roof, shorten the life span of your roof, and cause you to have increased energy bills over time. Our Soft wash solution is 100% biodegradable and has a 100% kill ratio below that surface layer of contaminants. If you have heavy build up, we will rinse your roof to make sure that all contaminants have been properly removed and the job complete. If you have light build up, we may let the weather and rain take care of removing the contaminants. We will discuss this with the customer on site.

Why should I clean my concrete?
We use a combination of pressure and soft washing to clean concrete surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks patios and parking lots. We will soft wash your concrete surfaces with our 100% biodegradable solution which will kill and prevent the regrowth of  slippery algae for a prolonged period. We will then use pressure washing to removed and brighten the concrete. Not only will this process increase curb appeal and leave your home or business looking fresh and clean. It will also remove the liability of slipping and tripping hazards for your family and customers.

Is Solar Panel Cleaning necessary?

Solar panels are cost-effective way to decrease your electricity bill.  They offer significant saving but are also a costly investment  and they are only a great asset to you as a homeowner and business owner if they are working at their optimal capacity. Regular maintenance of this asset should be a priority, but most people neglect them once they are installed because they are relatively low maintenance. We recommend that they be cleaned bi-annually. We do not pressure wash solar panels we soft wash them. Soft washing allows a low risk, almost 0% damage, 100% effective cleaning process that will keep your solar panels working at optimal capacity without voiding any warranty you may have with your solar panel provider.

Do you ever actually use Pressure Washing?

We have the knowledge and the professional equipment to provide our customers with the proper cleaning method for the durable surfaces on your property. There are two major factors that come into play when cleaning durable surfaces such as concrete and brick: the age of the durable surface and the moister content of the durable surface. These two factors will determine whether or not using pressure is the right method of cleaning. We come equipped with the knowledge and tools to help you determine the proper cleaning method needed for your property and the materials that make up your home and business.

I already pressure wash my fence. Why should I hire you to do it instead?

The fence around your home or business collects dirt, dust, mold, mildew, and contaminants just like all the other exterior surfaces around your property. These contaminants can affect your curb appeal and make your fence look old and worn. Not taking care of your fence can also affect the longevity of the material your fence is made of.  Pressure washing would normally be the first thing you would think of, as being the best way to clean the dirt and grime from your fence. The high pressure WILL blast away the dirt and grime, but overtime will cause damage to your fence and the materials it consists of. Our soft wash method offers a no risk of damage solution that will kill the organic materials at the root. This cleaning method can last up to six times longer than conventional pressure washing and leave your fence looking as good as new.

Do you offer gutter cleaning?
Yes! Cleaning gutters is never a fun chore. Porter power washing has the equipment to get this job done for you so that you can spend your time doing something else. Which can cause costly damage to your foundation and your home.  We have the equipment and know-how to take this take this terrible job off of your plate.
